Music is as much about sight as sound.
It is full of iconic imagery and a photographer’s job is to collect, capture, and catalogue it with a camera. 
By far the most important aspect of great live music photography is being close to the action. 
You want your images to feel like you were on stage, next to the performers, right in the midst of all the action.
